Title
California Tinkering Afterschool Network (CTAN)
Abstract/Description
The California Tinkering Afterschool Network (CTAN) was a professional partnership bringing together expertise from afterschool directors, facilitators, and researchers from the Community Science Workshop Network, Discovery Cube, Techbridge, and the Exploratorium. This equity-oriented professional community came together to design for, implement, and study teaching and learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math-rich (STEM-rich) afterschool tinkering programs that serve youth from low-income, historically marginalized communities. CTAN was a member of the Research + Practice Collaboratory and was supported by the National Science Foundation and the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation.
