- It seems you can’t go a day without reading or hearing about social’s newest sweetheart – Pinterest. The social network has exploded in the last few months as a visual platform ripe for brands that value the aesthetic, although it’s not without its risks. There are a number of brands already testing the waters, including Chobani, Gap, West Elm and Michaels. While there is real value in the platform, before jumping in, companies need to understand the role Pinterest will play, not just in their social mix, but also in their entire marketing program. To get a handle on the opportunities, we needed to sift through the buzz, explore the usage patterns and analyze the data. So we worked with HPCC Systems from LexisNexis® Risk Solutions – an open source, enterpriseproven Big Data analytics provider.
