- Cognition and learning are central concepts in educational psychology. Research on these topics has been productive botb for advancing fundamental scientific understanding and for informing educational practice. In this chapter, we review research accomplishments that have influenced the character of educational practice significantly. We also review research that has important practical implications but that has only begun to inform practices of education.
