Abstract/Description
Rising expectations of higher education, the lackluster performance of K–12 education, declining participation in American civic life, and concerns about a deteriorating community infrastructure and difficult social issues provide new scholarly opportunities through community engagement. The postmodern era requires developing new epistemologies if this scholarship of community engagement is to flower and mature.
